Website Shame is No Joke.

When I started Solas in 2020, I wasn’t planning on starting a business. The pandemic hit, I lost my job, and I embarked on the journey of picking up a few temporary freelance gigs… and well, the rest is history.

As soon as I realized this bandaid to make some cash was now a “thing,” I found myself in dire need of a website – and I needed it pronto.

In my quest for a quick solution, I dusted off an old student design portfolio site that had seen better days. Frankly, it was a relic of the past, and it certainly didn't do justice to who I was or the value I could bring.

I hastily cobbled together some generic content about Google Ads and whipped up a short bio that, in all honesty, left much to be desired. It was far from ideal, to say the least.

Whenever the topic of my website came up, I couldn't help but cringe a little. I mean, here I was, promoting my web design services, while my own website was a far cry from representing my capabilities. That sinking feeling would creep in whenever I met someone new at a networking event or connected with a potential client for a consultation.

To make matters worse, I kept that subpar site live for nearly three long years, until I finally got my act together earlier this year and created something that I’m a lot more proud of.

Looking back, I can't help but wonder, "What on earth was I thinking?"

The website shame was real.

Can you relate to this experience?

Your website should be a genuine reflection of who you are. It should be something you're excited to share with the world, a powerful tool to propel your business forward.

What I've noticed is that many of my clients grapple with showcasing their true selves online, often because they haven't quite nailed down who they are and what they stand for. This is a challenge I take to heart when working with new clients. I'm passionate about helping them connect with their essence and developing a visual language that authentically represents them.

Through my web design services, I prioritize quality, aesthetics, and user experience. My goal is to empower businesses to feel confident about presenting their authentic selves online. A professionally designed website isn't just about boosting credibility; it's about instilling confidence in both business owners and their potential customers.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is aiding every business I collaborate with in expressing their identity and professionalism through their online presence. My passion for providing web design services is rooted in the desire to eradicate the embarrassment that can arise when a website falls short of these expectations.

Through thoughtful and creative web design, my aim is to empower businesses to leave unforgettable first impressions, communicate their unique stories, and thrive in the digital realm. Ultimately, I aspire to contribute to the growth and success of businesses while nurturing a profound sense of pride in their online identity.
